Credenza Decor

Since I finished this credenza a few months ago, it has seen just about every accessory in our house cycle over it. And by George, I think I’ve finally got it!

The hubby and I recently emptied a (really cheap) wine jug, and I thought, just for kicks, I’d see how it looked on the credenza. Lo and behold, it was just what I needed. The sea fan I got as a souvenir ($5!) on our winter beach trip needed a home, and I love how it looks in the jug.

The other star players are my owl (whom you may recognize from his on-camera debut in my Christmas video), and the gold lamp that took about five years to come together. (I got the base for $8 from Goodwill eons ago, and found the gold Anthropologie shade at Salvation Army recently. If it looks familiar, that’s because I scored two silver ones along with it, for our bedroom.)

This is a perfect example of why you should snatch up little chotchkes as you find them… otherwise how are you ever going to arrange your credenza? (For a great article on The Art of Display, head over to Chez Larsson.)

Haha… he’s like my “Where’s Waldo.” He needs a name!

Let’s not forget the awesome painting above the credenza. Amy painted that, and it’s my favorite part of the whole room.

Ladies and gentleman, this is why I love him! I got tired of that painting long ago (hence no reference), but he still likes it.:) Thanks, babe!

No kidding! That was my initial reaction, “What a freaking awesome painting!!!” Way to go, Amy! I may need to plagiarize that since red’s my signature color so I must always find more ways to add it to my decor… :o )

I hear you on red… I keep waiting to tire of it, but I never do. And you have my full permission to plagiarize. (I like to call it “inspiration.”)

I think it all started with getting the idea in my head that I wanted a red couch. It’s been my fav color ever since. Most of my home is red, lime green, and chocolate brown.

Hey girl! Love the new look. I think you spyed into my house and stole my blue wall color and red poppies wall print. Ha! Love it all

Oh? I want to see! I love light blue as a “neutral,” and can’t go wrong with red poppies! I have a little print I snagged at the thrift store in our bedroom, too.

Thought of you b/c Mortimer (Dennis named him last night) is now on my kitchen table with a little flower arrangement (inspired by Sara’s eco-friendly centerpiece)!

Would you fancy that, seeing your kitchen had me thinking, “you know, I have almost a gallon left of that red paint!” for my bottom cabinets.:)
