I’ve always been lousy at video games. But Tetris, that’s a game I can rock. Though I’ve never been a neat freak (come to my house unannounced and you’ll see), I’ve always liked the process of making things work in a space. So whether it’s organizing or decorating, I like figuring out how to make rooms feel and function the way you want them to.

I think the style and organization of a home should make it feel like the place you most love to be. A place where you can let go, be yourself, and make memories. For me, that means a house full of thrifty treasures. I’m a mean bargain hunter, and almost without exception when someone points to something in my house and says, “Oh, I like that!” I respond with, “Thanks! I got it from Goodwill/Craigslist/Salvation Army for $_!”

I’m also pretty crafty with a sewing machine, paint brush, and glue gun when I’m inspired, usually in the name of originality, and, yep, you guessed it, frugality.

On Hey Now, Whoa Now! I share ideas I think might inspire you to make your home your own, from easy organizing tips to simple decorating ideas.

When I’m not feathering a nest, I have an alternate identity is as an on-camera personality and producer. (That part of my life lives at AmyHadley.com.) I have a journalism degree from Northwestern University, and a background in TV news. I love camping with my husband, Dennis. We dance in the kitchen when no one’s watching, and we’re converted Texans. We blame Austin. If you like what you see on Hey Now, Whoa Now!, you’ll like my tweets. Follow me on Twitter here.
